TACKLE HUNGER! Super Bowl Party & Cook-off
EVENT SCHEDULE –
- ALL DAY! Tackle Hunger – Souper Bowl of Caring fundraiser and canned-food drive. Donations benefiting Helping Hands of Spicewood and Tackle Hunger
- Chili & Wing cook-off 2pm-5pm, awards at 5pm
- Live Music – Pearl Snaps – 2pm-5pm
- “Punt, Pass and Kick” games for kids – 3pm-4pm
- 15 ft Big Screen Super Bowl experience (starts 5:30pm CST)
Gametime
Watch the Super Bowl starting at 5:30pm on our 15ft Big Screen or one of our many patio screens on the Venus Deck. Seating is first-come, first-served, and while we don’t believe there are any bad views on the Ranch (?) we recommend arriving early to pick out your favorite spot!
How the event works –
Chili & wing tasting wristbands are $10 each and include a chili bowl and wing boat, samples from all competition entries, and 3 tokens for casting your votes. 50% of each wristband cost is donated to the Souperbowl for Caring” event benefiting Helping Hands of Spicewood and Tackle Hunger. Entry is free for all ages to enjoy live music by the Pearl Snaps (2-5pm), games for kiddos (3-4pm) and our big screen Super Bowl watch party (5:30pm). Cook-off winners will be announced at 5pm before the game starts!
Cook-off team registration & rules –
- No registration fees – Sign up here
- Each team will receive a 10×10 tent space – Cooking will be on dirt, serving will be on turf
- Check-in and set-up for the event will start at 8:30am Sunday morning.
- Food must remain warm for the duration of the 2-5pm judging period

Prizes & Awards –
“BEST CHILI”, “BEST WINGS” and “PACK FAVORITE” will be judged by the following criteria: the most tokens in your jar at the end of the event. 1st, 2nd, 3rd place prizes will be given away (except for PACK FAVORITE, which will just have a single winner). The “Pack Favorite” award is given to the overall fan favorite team. This can be because of flavor, team spirit, booth themes and more! Teams are encouraged to decorate their booth, dress up and have fun with it.
Chili & Wing Cook-off general guidelines & rules:
- The Chili & Wing Cook-off will be held at Iron Wolf Ranch & Distillery from 2:00 pm – 5:30 pm on Sunday, February 11, 2024.
- Each team will have up to a 10×10 area. Cooking areas must be on the grounds, serving only can be on the turf.
- Check-in and set-up for the event will start at 8:30am Sunday morning.
- Teams must bring all their required equipment, pots, tables, chairs, extension chords, water. Limited power is available as well as limited water hoses for refillable water containers.
- Chili is defined as any kind of spicy, stew-like dish cooked with chili peppers, meat and beans (optional). Various other spices and ingredients may be added with the exception of rice or pasta.
- Chili and wings can be cooked on-site or before arriving at the event.
- Chili and wings should be ready for serving, tasting/judging at 2:00pm by the attendees.
- Chili and wings should be kept hot through the tasting period between 2pm and 5pm.
- Please provide at least 2-3 gallons of chili minimum and 8-10lbs of wings minimum (should yield 60-70 winglets) for the people’s tasting and judging. More is better!
- Participants are responsible for cleaning their container(s) and clearing their areas after the event.
- Please let your friends and family know about the event – the more people, the better the chance of winning!
