Originally from Panama City\, Florida\, Brown grew up listening to his parents records before starting a collection of his own. Surrounded by instruments in the home\, he began to write songs daily before attending Troy Universities School of Music. Soon he would band together with friends to form rock group The Matters who opened for acts such as\, The Goo Goo Dolls\, Vallejo\, and Naughty Professor.
